Music Ministry helps people respond in the dialogue of Worship, the Liturgy. Expressed and attended to, music provides a shared experience of giving and receiving and celebrating the life of Faith individually and communally. We are told that Jesus and his followers sang hymns regularly. In music we proclaim our faith in a more intentional, profound and meaningful way.
We are cantors, organists, four choirs and a small concert band serving the weekend liturgies, Holy Days, Stations of the Cross, Reconciliation Services, weddings and funerals. The Assembly is encouraged to participate above all, and Cantors alone assist at the 4:30pm and 8:00am liturgies, while the choirs lead the congregation at the 9:30 and 11:00am and 5:30pm Masses.
The 9:30 Sunday Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm; the 11:00 Sunday Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm; Teenagers rehearse at 4:30pm (an hour before the 5:30pm Mass) and a Children’s Choir sings about once a month, rehearsing Mondays at 4:00pm.
