Baptism

The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Baptism Preparation Team is here to assist you in preparing for the Baptism of your new born baby.  The first step is to contact the office; Laurie Fox, our Baptism Coordinator, will walk you through the process step-by-step and provide you with all of the information you need to baptize your child. Some of your questions can be answered when you call.  Once you make contact, you will be mailed a Baptism Registration packet along with a booklet: “Welcomed by Name; Our Child’s Baptism.” We look forward to meeting with you and helping to make your baby’s baptism a wonderful and memorable event.

BAPTISM POLICIES

Baptisms are held on the second Saturday of the month at the 4:30 p.m. Mass and the second Sunday of the month at 12:15 p.m. and on the fourth Sunday of the Month at 12:15 p.m.  The only exception would be that baptisms are not held during Advent, Lent or the month of August.

Parents are required, and Godparents are encouraged, to participate in a baptism preparation class conducted by the Baptism Preparation Team, which is held once a month in the Parish Center.  The Parish Office schedules classes. There is a $25 fee to cover the cost of supplies for the program.  Please submit payment with the Baptism Registration form. When all paperwork is completed and parents have attended class, the parish office will schedule the baptism date.

The Catholic godparents - male and female – must be practicing, confirmed Catholics sixteen years of age or older.  They must obtain a letter or sponsor certificate from their parish indicating their parish membership and qualification to act as a sponsor for the sacrament of baptism
