Dear Friends,
It’s another busy weekend at Seton! The parish annual picnic is this Sunday beginning at 12:30PM. The weather looks great and I look forward to seeing many of you there. It is also Catechetical Sunday when we bless and lift up those who hand on our Catholic faith to others, especially our young people. I want to especially thank this weekend, members of the parish staff who work so hard to coordinate and facilitate our faith formation programs for the young: Sarah Jarzembowski (Director of Evangelization), Griffin Connor (Youth Ministry) and Emily Gretz, who does so much valuable work behind the scenes.
HELP WANTED & NEEDED! Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting with Denise Swensen who chairs our parish efforts in support of our sister parish of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Haiti. We are committed to supporting the parish’s preschool program with an enrollment of over 300 children. Your contributions provide not only tuition assistance and classroom materials but also a hot meal for the children. We need help and new energy on our Haiti Committee to assure that our efforts in support of OLMCarmel continue. You can contact Denise directly at 410-562-0068 or denswen@me.com to learn more about this opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child.
ALTAR SERVERS & CHILDREN’S CHOIR: Next weekend, there will be an opportunity for young parishioners to sign up to become altar servers (grades 5 and up) and/or members of the children’s choir. Stay tuned for further details….
Don’t forget the Inquiry Session this Thursday (22nd) @ 7PM for anyone interested in exploring the Catholic faith. The purpose of the session is to listen to and respond to any questions a person might have in considering being a Catholic. There is no obligation or commitment for those who attend.
Congratulations to Carl Bottolfson and Jennifer Burch who will unite in the sacrament of marriage on Saturday (17). We wish them a life-time of happiness and good health.
Finally, please remember in your prayers the repose of the soul of Walter Miller whose Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this Thursday (22nd) at 11AM.
Have a Good Week!
Msgr. Woy
PS: BLESSING OF ANIMALS in honor of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi is fast approaching. This year’s blessing will take place at 11am on Saturday, October 1st. All creatures big and small will be welcomed.
