It’s a busy weekend (and week) at Seton! First, we welcome the Little Sisters of the Poor for their annual visit seeking financial support for their care of the elderly poor at St. Martin’s Home in Catonsville. Proceeds to the Poor Box this weekend will be given to the Sisters. They will also be at the doors of the church where you can speak with them directly about their wonderful ministry.
We also welcome to our parish for the new academic year a learning team for St. Mary’s Seminary, Baltimore. Please make Andrew McCarroll (Diocese of Scranton), Anthony Pampena (Diocese of Pittsburg) and Bienuenu Ilanga (Archdiocese of Baltimore) welcome as they become part of our parish family as they prepare for priestly ordination. It is a blessing for the parish and a sign of hope for us all to witness young men willing to give their lives in service to the church.
Of course, the BIG EVENT this weekend is the resumption of Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) at the 9:30 Mass followed by DONUTS!
This evening at 6 PM is the initial meeting for children and families participating in MEND, the First Reconciliation program. Please keep these young children and their families in your prayers as they prepare for first sacraments.
Don’t forget, next Sunday is our annual parish picnic. Tickets are on sale after all Masses this weekend.
If you are interested in exploring the Catholic Faith or know someone who is, please invite them to an upcoming Inquiring Session on Thursday, September 22nd. The purpose of this session is to answer any questions or concerns about church and the RCIA process.
Congratulations to Chris Scott and Thao Nguyen who will be united in the Sacrament of Marriage during a nuptial Mass on Friday (9th). We wish them a lifetime of happiness together. Also, let’s welcome to our Catholic community, through the Sacrament of Baptism, Charlotte Rose Maki, daughter of Kari & Kathleen Maki. Let’s keep them in our prayers as they begin this new journey!
Finally, please remember in your prayers the repose of the soul of Rosemary Marquette whose Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (10th)at 11am with a one hour visitation before had starting at 10am . I understand that Rosemary was instrumental in establishing and expanding the parish’s “Outreach” ministry. We pray for her eternal rest and that her family might have peace at her passing.
Have a Good Week!
