Seton Weekly Update 7/7/22

Posted on July 09, 2022 in: General News

Dear Friends,

Thanks so much for the very warm welcome extended to me last weekend.  As I mentioned in my brief comments, I feel blest to be at Seton and I pray that my time as your pastor will be a blessing for you.  Do have patience with me – I never forget a face but names are another matter.

Although we are in “ordinary time” there are some special events this week – all signs of a vibrant parish.  At the Saturday evening’s Mass, we welcome into our Catholic community through the sacrament of baptism Joseph Brodie Shepherd son of Joseph and Ariane Shepherd. Please keep the Shepherd family in your prayers as they mark this special moment in their family’s journey of life.

This Sunday we welcome Fr. Kevin Ewing as guest celebrant of the 8:00 AM.  Fr. Ewing was my associate the final 3 years of my tenure as rector of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen.  Fr. Ewing is currently Catholic Chaplain at Towson University.  He is also chaplain for the Baltimore Orioles and claims some credit for their rebuilding efforts. He will be helping out over the next few Sundays before he heads to the ballpark for Mass.

DONUT SUNDAYS return this weekend after the 9:30 Mass.  Do stop by the parish hall for fellowship and something to eat.  After the 5:30 Mass our Young Adult Group (18-39) will hold “Grill & Chill” in the parish hall.  Young adults regardless of faith tradition are welcome to attend.   Hopefully, they will let me in since I’m a bit over 39! BYOChair!

Have a Good Week!

Msgr. Woy
