We still need 150 more Thanksgiving dinners to meet our goal. Additional drop off times are after the 4:30 Mass on Saturday, November 7 and 14 and after 9:30 Mass on Sunday, November 8 and 15. The table will be set up outside the Parish center for you to drive by to leave your dinners as you leave church.
Because of COVID-19, our Thanksgiving program will be a little different this year! By starting early, we hope to give you time to collect items so that we can provide 350 Thanksgiving bags to our sister parish St. Gregory the Great in Baltimore. We will also distribute bags to local Food Pantry and Annapolis families. There will be no “green slips” for you to sign up to pledge dinners or money…you will just bring in a food bag or contribute money towards dinners. We will keep you apprised of our progress each week via the Seton website and social media.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
- Pack a food bag. Drop your packed bag on the table outside the entrance to the Parish Center. We will bring it inside to store it and retrieve turkey money. (No direct contact)
- Contribute money. Mail a check made out to Seton Parish (and include “Thanksgiving” on the memo line). We will also accept cash.
WHEN TO DROP OFF YOUR BAG?
Monday or Wednesday from 10am - 12:30pm from October 12th through November 16th .
Note: The Food Pantry currently operates outside using the right-hand side parking lots – so please use the parking lots on the left-hand side outside the Parish Center.
Sunday from 2pm – 3pm on October 18th or 25th, or on November 1st, 8th, or 15th.
If you are unable to come at any of the above times, please email Susan to arrange an alternate drop off time. PLEASE, do not leave bags at Seton at other times.
WHAT’S IN A BAG?
1 large box instant potatoes (12 servings) 1 can cranberry sauce
1 large can sweet potatoes (approx. 40 oz.) 3 cans vegetables
1 large or 2 small boxes stuffing mix (12 servings) 2 gravy (packs or cans -no glass )
1 large can sauerkraut (approx. 27 oz.) 1 package cookies
1 can evaporated milk (for the mashed potatoes)
- Please pack all items in a RE-USABLE BAG. In the past, many people had generously added extra items to the bags, which we re-distributed so all bags had something extra. Because this year we will NOT be able to check for uniformity in each bag, we ask that you carefully include ONLY what is on the list. If you are blessed with the ability to provide more, please consider giving another bag instead.
- If you are able to add $20 for a turkey, put a check made out to Seton Parish (or provide a gift card or cash) in an envelope labeled “Turkey Money” (and your name) and tape it to your food bag.
