Dear Parishioners and Friends,

In an effort to keep everyone connected, I will continue to send updates and reminders regarding what is going on here at Seton and in our Crofton community. I thank you for your understanding for these multiple emails due to the COVID-19 updates that are fluid.

As a result of Governor Hogan’s press conference this morning, parishes in the Archdiocese of Baltimore are considered non-essential businesses. In compliance with the Order, the parish office will be closed until further notice.  However, the staff will continue to be available by email and work remotely.  Please follow this link for their email addresses:

Food Pantry:  As of 3pm today I am closing our food pantry until further notice.  I am grateful to our dedicated staff of volunteers who have done a wonderful job of helping those in need!  Please do not bring any more donations of food to the parish.

If you had reached out to help with the food pantry, I thank you for your willingness to serve.

CCCC:  The CCCC is also limiting what they are doing.  Both the Baby Pantry and Clothes Closet in Crofton have closed until further notice. If someone is in need of financial aid, they can call and leave a message at the parish office and we will pass your information along to the CCCC.

I am blown away by the response to our live streaming of both the daily and weekend Mass, as well as the 12 Noon daily Angelus!  Our streams are all recorded and viewable on Facebook, YouTube, and our parish website. Search Seaseton on Facebook and YouTube or visit to find them.

Just as a reminder here are the times for the live stream:

  • Daily Mass: Monday-Thursday at 9:00am
  • Weekend Mass: Sunday at 9:30am
  • Daily Angelus: Every day at 12:00pm

Our plan is to live stream our Holy Week and Easter litugies. Please stay tuned for the times of these broadcasts.

I am grateful to everyone continuing to give to the parish during this time of crisis.   With the offices closed, I am now asking you to please drop off your offertory envelopes in our mailbox, located at the entrance of our driveway, at edge Rt,424, by our sign.   I also encourage you to consider signing up for GiveCentral by clicking here.

If you have received our Easter mailing you will notice the offering envelopes inside.   With Holy Week and Easter liturgies being streamed online this year, we are not going to have Easter flowers.   Any donations received for Easter flowers will be put toward general operations.

I have decided to postpone the First Eucharist Masses until further notice. The celebration of our teenagers receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation has been postponed and will be rescheduled  based on the Bishops’ calendars. Finally, I am waiting  for word to celebrate the initiation sacraments and reception into the Catholic Church the members of the RCIA.

Please pray for everyone’s safety during this time of crisis especially those involved with healthcare!

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us!

Until next time,

Fr Paul Sparklin
