Seton Weekly Update 7/21/22

Posted on July 26, 2023 in: General News

Dear Friends,

Truly our Lord is kind and merciful. Over the last two and a half years God’s grace has not only been revealed through you, his people, the people of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, but also in this one prayer… to have some help with the role and responsibilities I have been given as Director of Evangelization. Initially, I asked God to bring me someone to take care of our children as this is a ministry that I had not experienced before and felt inadequate. Yet, God said listen and learn. Our children and families taught me about how easy our faith can be when we see the Love of our God through their eyes. My heart grew many sizes this year thanks to our young parishioners.

When we started to talk about hiring someone for our Director for Marriage and Family Life position, my heart began to grow heavy. I took this to prayer and God was faithful. He brings to us Deacon Mike Fitzpatrick to focus on our evangelization efforts as well as deepening our adult spiritual enrichment and journeying with those interested in entering the church as an adult. Thanks be to God!

Also, I am happy to share with you that this weekend, after the 11:00 Mass, we welcome into our Catholic faith community, through the waters of baptism, Katherine Ann Kaiser, daughter of Brandan and Lindsay and Jacob Ross Andreasik, son of Brenton and Michelle.  Congratulations to Katherine, Jacob and their families. I look forward to journeying with you in faith.

From the desk of your new Director of Marriage and Family Life ~ Sarah J

Thank you, Sarah, for the warm welcome.  My wife Dawn and I have returned to Seton Parish, where we started our ministry journey over 25 years ago.   I officially begin in my new role on August 1st and I am in the process of transferring my Diaconal faculties to the Archdiocese of Baltimore so I can also serve in liturgical ministries.  I look forward to meeting everyone as I will begin serving at Masses very soon.

May God bless and keep you and may His light shine upon you!   Dcn. Mike
