Dear Friends,
We are so thrilled about Vacation Bible School this coming week! We have over 30 children and over 20 teens and adults assisting throughout the week. Thank you to Sarah Jarzembowski and all of our Stellar VBS volunteers for all of their hard work in putting together such a successful VBS at Seton! This is the first year that Seton has had VBS without the coordination with our other area Parishes.
As the new church year begins and as our children and youth programming begins, we wanted to share with you our practices with regards to ensuring the safety of our children and youth. All of our volunteers that have substantial contact with children complete:
VIRTUS Registration
- A background check
- 3 references (a personal, professional and civic/volunteer)
- A 45 minute online training
All volunteers are required to update their training and background checks every 5 years.
Additionally, moving forward we will be instituting that all NEW volunteers complete substantial training for all ministries. This allows any volunteer the opportunity to move across ministries without having to complete additional requirements at a later date.
Should you have any questions or would like to become a volunteer, please reach out to Laryessa Worthington at laryessa.worthington@seaseton.org.
Have a wonderful week!
Laryessa Worthington and Liam Benton
Weekly Updates
- Backpacks for St. Gregory’s
Support the children at our sister parish in Baltimore by filling a backpack with school supplies. It’s easy, simply pick a grade level, purchase all the items for that grade, and return the filled backpack to the parish between Saturday, July 15 and Monday, August 14. Here is a shopping list with all the details.
If you prefer to make a monetary donation, please use GiveCentral or put a check payable to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, in an envelope labled “School Supplies”.
