Dear friends,
The celebration of Easter continues with this weekend’s feast of the Ascension. This Sunday married couples celebrating an anniversary in the month of May are invited to renew their marriage vows after Mass. Simply meet in front of the altar after Mass.
On Monday evening, Bishop Adam Parker will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for 33 of our parish’s young people whose names are listed in the bulletin. Please keep the confirmandi in your prayers. May they be open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit throughout their lives.
With the celebration of Confirmation, many of our formal faith formation programs conclude for the summer months. On behalf of the parish, I wish to thank catechists and assistants who assisted in the preparation of our young people to celebrate first sacraments. Your ministry to and care for some of the youngest members of our parish is greatly appreciated.
Recently our physical plant underwent a very thorough facilities assessment under the auspices of the Archdiocese. Once a detailed report is provided to the parish, I would like to establish a facilities committee to develop a long-term plan for the upkeep of our buildings and campus. If you are interest in serving a renewed facilities committee, please contact Liam Benton @ liam.benton@seaseton.o... or 410-721-5770.
On the first week of May, many of you participated in the annual “Mass Attendance Count.” This Mass census takes place yearly in each parish of the Archdiocese in order to understand, not only the number of people attending Mass, but also their ethnic background. In today’s bulletin you will find the results for this year’s count. A special thank you to Maureen Sapero for compiling this data for us! BTW – the ushers do such a great job of counting Mass goers that there was only a 10-person discrepancy between the usher count and the returned cards. THANK YOU, USHERS!
The HELP WANTED sign is still out for Eucharistic Ministers. The parish hopes to return to receiving Holy Communion under both forms. To learn more please contact Laryessa Worthington in the parish office.
Have a Good Week! ~ Msgr. Woy
