Seton Weekly Update 5/12/23

Posted on May 13, 2023 in: General News

Dear friends,

Happy Mother’s Day!  A special welcome to all Moms, Stepmothers, Grandmothers and God Mothers whose nurturing love so enriches our lives! May your day be blest and happy.

It’s a busy weekend in our parish!   Congratulations to David Beans & Angela Sarrach who were married Saturday afternoon by Deacon Ray Moreau.  Also, at Saturday’s 4:30 Mass, we welcome through the waters of Baptism Aiden Michael Hilbert into our parish community and Catholic faith.  Aiden is the son of James & Julie Hilbert.  We wish Aiden and his family many blessings and a long life.

Congrats also to Sarah Jarzembowski, Director of Evangelization for earning a Master of Arts Degree in Pastoral Studies from Loyola Institute for Ministry, New Orleans. In her course of studies, Sarah was recognized for excellence in scholarship, leadership and service.

We are blest by the ministry of two very devoted deacons who mark ordination anniversaries this month.  Deacon Ray Moreau will be ordained 20 years on May 17th and Deacon Jack McCabe 4 years on May 25th.   Congratulations and THANK YOU for your service to the SETON community.

Next weekend, married couples celebrating anniversaries in the month of May will be invited to participate in a wedding vow renewal after Mass. There is no need to pre-register.  Simply listen to the announcements after communion for directions.

Don’t forget to bring flowers from home for the Marian Shrine during the month of May.   The shrine is located to the right of the sanctuary and is graced by a Sedes Sapientiae (Seat of Wisdom) statue of our lady.

HELP WANTED – EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS!!!With the pandemic behind us, the Church is encouraging local parishes to re-institute the reception of Holy Communion under both forms (bread & wine).   Before we can return to sharing in the Precious Blood at communion time, we need more EMs.  If you are interested, give Laryessa a call in the parish office who will refer you to the coordinator for the ministry.

Msgr. Richard Woy, Pastor
