Dear friends,
We continue this weekend with First Communion celebrations at the 9:30 & 11:00 AM Masses. What a blessing it is for the parish to witness this important moment in the lives of young families. You will find the names of the first communicants in the bulletin.
On Sunday, we welcome into our faith family thru the waters of Baptism Oliver Bradley Shaw, child of Tyler and Leigh, and Isabella Jane Linnenkamp, daughter of Joseph and Jessica, who will be baptized by Deacon Ray Moreau.
HELP WANTED!!! The parish continues to re-build its liturgical ministries after the pandemic. We need sacristans, Eucharistic Ministers, altar servers and ushers!
- Sacristans help prepare the church on Thursday and Friday for weekend Masses.
- Eucharistic Ministers assist with the distribution of Holy Communion.
- Ushers help maintain the good order of the church during Mass and offer a warm welcome to Mass goers.
- Altar Servers assist the priest at the altar during Mass. This ministry is open to young and old, male and female alike.
Volunteers for these ministries control their own schedule and availability. If interested, please contact Michelle in the parish office who will refer you to the coordinator for each ministry.
There will be a Welcome Reception next Sunday (30) after the 9:30 Mass for newly registered parishioners. If you are new to the parish over the past year, consider yourself invited. Although pre-registration is helpful, it is not required.
Backpacks of Love! April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month in which we are teaming up with The Blue Ribbon Project to provide essential items for children entering into foster care. Basic items such as toothbrush/toothpaste, a book, a toy, clothes and a blanket are provided in the backpack. The hope is to provide whatever the child needs for the first 48 hours. Liam and Sarah Benton will be in the narthex after Masses to answer any questions about this project and hopefully to get your support.
Keep in your prayers the repose of the soul of Darwin Romero, brother of Elena Zelaya and Maritz Deras of our maintenance staff. Mr. Romero lived in El Salvador where funeral services were held.
Finally, remember long-time and active parishioner Roy Soluri whose funeral Mass will be held on Monday (4/24) at 11:30 AM with visitation beginning at 10:30. Roy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice, and their three children. May he rest in peace!
Msgr. Richard Woy, Pastor
