Seton Weekly Update 1/27/2023

Posted on January 27, 2023 in: General News

Dear Friends,

It’s a busy weekend at SETON.  After the 9:30 Mass there is a special DONUT social to welcome all who are new to the parish over the past year.   If you are new, consider yourself invited whether you responded to the sent invitation or not.  Since Friday is the Feast of St. Blasé, we will offer a general blessing of throats at all Masses as part of the general intercessions.

Sunday is also the beginning of Catholic Schools Week.  Please welcome this weekend, parishioners who attend the School of the Incarnation (SOTI).  SOTI is the regional Catholic school for our area. The school is very highly regarded for its academic excellence in a faith- based environment.  If you are considering a Catholic education for your child, I invite you to consider SOTI www.schooloftheincarnation.org

Like it or not but Lent will soon be here.  Ash Wednesday (February 22) is fast approaching.  I am very pleased to announce that Fr. Josh Laws, pastor of the Catholic Community of South Baltimore (Federal Hill and Locust Point) will offer a parish Lenten mission beginning the weekend of March 4/5 through March 8th.  Mark your calendars now.  More details to follow.  When I am on vacation, I normally attend Mass at one of Fr. Law’s churches (he has 3) because his preaching is so good.

Before we get to Lent, there will be a Pancake Supper on Shrove Tuesday (February 21) from 5-6:30pm in the parish hall.  All moms & dads can take the night off from cooking dinner.  More details to follow.

The Maryland March for Life will take place this year on February 27th in Annapolis. For details and information visit:  www.mdmarchforlife.com.

Finally, winter relief begins next Monday (6th).  Saturday and Sunday will be set up of the hall to make it ready to receive our guests on Monday evening.  Thanks, everyone who made donations or signed up to help.

Have a Good Week!
