Seton Weekly Update 10/28/22

Posted on October 28, 2022 in: General News

Dear Friends,

This weekend is the second in our Fall Stewardship Campaign. I want to thank Joe Shepherd for his great presentation, at last weekend’s Masses, on the financial status of the parish. This weekend I will be speaking at Masses asking your continued support.  I cannot thank you enough for your financial support of the parish. I will be referencing the parish’s strategic plan which you will find on our website.  Your generosity makes possible the ministries and programs of the parish.

After Sunday’s 11AM Mass we begin anew an old custom in the parish -- a welcome reception for new parishioners.  If you are new to the parish over the past year, consider yourself invited.  Stop by the parish hall after Mass for fellowship and some timely information about the parish.

November is the month of All Souls when we remember in a special way our beloved dead.  The annual Mass of Remembrance will be held on All Souls Day (November 2) at 7:00 PM.  As is the custom, families of those for whom we have celebrated a funeral rite have been invited to this Mass.  The parish’s Book of Remembrance may be found near the sanctuary.  You are invited to add the names of your deceased loved ones in the book.  Also, parishioners are invited to place a framed photo of deceased family members in front of the altar during November.

Next Saturday (5th) there will be a blessing of veterans, active and retired military at the 4:30 Mass in honor of Veterans Day.   A cocktail party will follow to honor those who are currently serving in the armed forces or have served in the past.  RSVP for the reception by Tuesday (1st) by contacting Sarah Jarzembowski (

Finally, remember in your prayers the repose of the soul of Nancy Calder whose Mass of Christian Burial took place on Monday (24).  Nancy was a long-time active parishioner.  She is survived by her husband Bob and sons Thomas and Stephen.

Have a good week!

Msgr. Woy
