There is an urgent need for food!

Volunteers from the seven area churches of the Crofton Christian Caring Council joined together in 2008 to establish the Crofton Food Pantry at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.   The food pantry is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am – 3pm and the first Sunday of each month from 3 – 5pm.   A baby pantry, located at Community United Methodist Church,  is open from 10am - 2pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and on Friday from 10am - 12pm.   Both pantries are open to all Anne Arundel County residents and welcome anyone in need - no appointments are necessary.   To volunteer or for questions, contact Susan Bixby at

The pantries are supported by donations of nonperishable foods and baby products or monetary donations to the Crofton Christian Caring Council.  In 2010 we partnered with the Anne Arundel Food Bank, and once a month we receive cases of various canned food items from them, as well as one frozen meat item, for each family.

The following items are put in every food bag and are always appreciated:

  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Cereal or oatmeal
  • Spaghetti sauce and pasta
  • Box/bag noodles, rice or potatoes side dish
  • Soup
  • Canned chili, beef stew, or ravioli, etc.
  • Tuna
  • Box macaroni and cheese
  • Baby products needed are diapers, wipes, formula, and baby food.
