CLOW - Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is offered for children in preschool through second grade or until the child receives First Eucharist. It is designed to offer the Sunday Gospel Readings on a level better understood by children, in a smaller setting, during the 9:30a.m. Mass on Sundays between Labor Day and Memorial Day. The children are dismissed from Mass and gather in a separate space to hear the scriptures proclaimed, sing a psalm, pray the Apostles Creed and offer intercessions in prayer, then return to Mass for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Children's Faith Formation
Children in grades K through 5 may attend weekly classes based on the upcoming Sunday readings. This is called Lectionary-Based Catechesis and is one way of connecting what happens weekly at Mass with what children learn in their regular Faith Formation classes. Classes are taught by volunteers who are parents, grandparents or other parishioners who wish to share their love of faith with children. These classes are held at School of the Incarnation on Thursday evenings 6:30-7:45 pm. To register and to check our calendar click here.

Family Faith Formation
Many families are unable to commit to a regular weekly class due to other commitments, or perhaps feel that as parents, they need more instruction themselves in the Catholic Faith. For these families, we offer “A Family of Faith,” a program in which parents and children receive assignments and work together at home on their own schedule. We connect with other families and are introduced to the next month’s topic at monthly meetings, where we also celebrate children’s monthly birthdays and make connections with our church family. These celebrations are held here at the church, and are preceded by family masses, which use youth lectors and cantors. Children are welcome to enquire about these ministries as well!
