The Catechumenate process is for young people, ages 7 to 17, who are unbaptized and/or un-catechized. It is based on the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), and is set up specifically to be understood by young people with the guidance of a catechist and a sponsor family. An interview with the Director of Faith Formation is required.

 RECONCILIATION CALENDAR  2007-2008

Reconciliation Application

Reconciliation is a healing sacrament of the Church that aids in the process of conversion. When a person becomes distant from God, or his/her relationship with God becomes strained or broken through sin, celebrating the sacrament of Reconciliation sharply focuses the sinner's need for forgiveness and God's loving response. The Church extends God's mercy and invites the sinner to the Lord's table again, pledging its support in the process of conversion. The healing grace of the sacrament reconciles us with God and with the Church Community. The Christian life is a process of conversion away from the self to God and a consequent deepening of our love of God. Whatever facilitates this movement toward God brings about the forgiveness of sin.

If you or someone you know is interested in Reconciliation Preparation, contact the MaryAnn Lutz at (410) 721-5774, or via email at maryann.lutz@seaseton.org .

CONFIRMATION CALENDAR 2007-2008

Confirmation is a sacrament, a special sign which celebrates a special moment in your life as a Catholic Christian. The sign of Confirmation is unique because, as a sacrament, it does what it says it does. Confirmation seals you with the power of the Holy Spirit, which enables you to say "Yes" to the Christian life, to a personal relationship with Jesus, and helps you to share your gifts with the Church.  Seton Parish Confirmation guidelines are:

- The usual age for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation is 10th grade or older;
- Two years of religious education or parochial school immediately prior to reception of this sacrament is required, including the year of Immediate Preparation;
- Candidates write a formal letter of request to the pastor stating reasons for requesting Confirmation;
- ALL candidates, regardless of the school they are attending, participate together in a special program for Immediate Preparation which is described in a brochure that can be requested from the Church.

If you or someone you know is interested in Confirmation Preparation, call Jack O'Malley, at (410) 721-5774, or via email at jack.omalley@seaseton.org.

Eucharist Preparation Mary Ann Lutz (410) 721-5774

EUCHARIST CALENDAR  2007-2008

Eucharist Application

Of all the sacraments, the Eucharist is the one that is celebrated most often. Our sharing in the Eucharist completes our process of incorporation into the Church and brings about a closer union with Christ and with all the members of the believing Church.

The Eucharist is, at once, a sacrament, and a sacred meal. Even as the Eucharist reveals God's love, it causes God's love to be experienced and shared within the worshipping community. Just as ordinary food is converted into physical energy, the Eucharist nourishes the continual journey of the believer toward oneness in God.

The sacrament of the Eucharist is indeed a sacred coming together, an intimate solidarity with God and one another.

If you or someone you know is interested in Eucharist Preparation, contact MaryAnn Lutz at (410) 721-5774, or via email at maryann.lutz@seaseton.org .
