Lecture Series

Each year---three parishes---Church of the Holy Apostles in Gambrills, St. Joseph Church in Odenton and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Crofton----come together to present a series of lectures and discussions on various topics. Our parishes are closer than you may realize----distance in miles between Holy Apostles and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton---4.47 miles----and between St. Joseph and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton—7.64 miles!! 

 

 

Lecture Series #1

Church of the Holy Apostles will host the first lecture on November 18, 2009—in their Library Media Center from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.  The topic is "Church and State:  Where Do You Draw the Line?" ---presented by Father Peter Daly—Pastor of St. John Vianney Parish in Prince Frederick, Maryland.  Father Daly is a Licensed Attorney and active member of the Maryland and DC Bars and member of the Supreme Court of the U.S. Bar.  He also writes a weekly column for the Catholic News Service.

Lecture Series #2

The second lecture will be held at St. Joseph Church Hall in Odenton on April 22, 2010—from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.  The topic is "When Bad Things Happen to Good People:  When Faith Seems to Fail."  The presenter will be announced at a later date.
