Lecture Series

Each year---three parishes---Church of the Holy Apostles in Gambrills, St. Joseph Church in Odenton and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Crofton----come together to present a series of lectures and discussions on various topics. Our parishes are closer than you may realize----distance in miles between Holy Apostles and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton---4.47 miles----and between St. Joseph and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton—7.64 miles!! 

 

 

Lecture Series #1

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will host the first presentation Thursday, October 27, 2011 in the Fr. Connelly Parish Center from 7:00-8:30PM.  "Women of the Bible, Alive" is a presentation of stories of six women from both the Old and New Testaments.  Gloria Rink is the director of Troupe.  The women involved in this ministry believe that the women of the Bible were real and that their struggles, joys, longings and delights are similar to our own.  Women of the Bible is a non-profit organization.  There will be a free will offering taken to cover expenses and all the money above the expenses will be donated to charities for women and children.  More information can be found on their website - www.womenofthebiblealive.com

Lecture Series #2

Our second lecture will be held at St. Joseph's Parish in Odenton on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 6:30-8:00PM.  Dr. Michael Gorman, Dean of the Ecumenical Institute and Professor of Biblical Studies will enlighten us on the topic - "Reclaiming Advent".

Lecture Series #3

Church of the Holy ApostlesThe third lecture will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 6:30-8:00PM at Holy Apostle, Gambrills (in the library).  The topic will be "Catholic Social Teaching" by Dr. Ryan Messmore.  Dr. Messmore received his Ph.D. in Theology from Oxford University and is a member of Holy Apostles RCIA team.
