HIGH SCHOOL CONFIRMATION PREPARATION
The Confirmation Preparation Program is a broad-based comprehensive ministry that integrates faith formation and religious instruction with the lived experiences of young people. Our focus is on equipping teens to:
explore what being a Christian, a Catholic, and a person of faith means;
develop their own personally-held faith and own it;
grow in response to the Gospel challenge to be a person of faith, a disciple of Jesus, and a member of the Church.
Students who are minimally entering the 9th grade are eligible to begin their preparation for Confirmation. Information about the program can be found in the http://seasetonym.weebly.com. To register, complete the pdf High School Youth Ministry Registration Form 2016-2017 (85 KB) and return it to the Youth Ministry Office. High School Confirmation Preparation will meet on Sunday evenings from 6:45-8:30 pm at the Church. Please see the pdf 2016-2017 HSYM Calendar (386 KB) for meeting dates.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is conferred annually in the spring to those who are catechetically ready and minimally in the 10th grade. Two consecutive years of participation in the Confirmation Preparation Program is required for reception of the sacrament. A candidate for Confirmation must profess the faith, be in the state of grace, have the intention of receiving the sacrament, and be prepared to assume the role of disciple and witness to Christ, both within the Church community and in the world.
Resources for Second Year Students:
"If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-the Spirit of truth...The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." JN 14:15-17; 26.
Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the fullness of the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply as children of God; incorporate us more firmly into Christ; strengthen our bond with the Church and associate us more closely with its mission; and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.

Adult Confirmation Class Forming! Did you miss Confirmation as a youth? In January 2017, we will be forming a group of adults who are regular, practicing Catholics and who would like to begin preparation for reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. The program will include six Wednesday evening sessions beginning early January to explore your faith and another session to prepare for reception of the Sacrament which could be scheduled some time in the Spring. If you are interested, contact Deacon Fred Seibold.
