Baptism

Infants -The Sacrament of Baptism is customarily celebrated on the second Saturday of the month at the 4:30 p.m. Mass and on the fourth Sunday at 12:15 p.m.  However, we do not celebrate the Sacrament during the seasons of Advent and Lent.

Parents must participate in a baptism preparation program conducted by the Baptism Preparation Team.  Godparents are encouraged to attend this session.  They occur once a month in the Connelly Parish Center.  A parent should contact the Parish Office to make arrangements to attend the Preparation session.  A member of the parish Baptism Preparation Team will be assigned to assist in planning the child's baptism, answer questions and act as liaison with the Parish Office.  When all paperwork is completed and parents have attended the preparation session, the Office will confirm the date for the baptism.

The Catholic godparents - male and female - must be practicing, confirmed Catholics, 16 years of age or older.  They must obtain a letter or sponsor certificate from their parish indicating their parish membership and qualification to act as a sponsor for the sacrament of baptism.  A baptized person who belongs to a non-Catholic ecclesial community may be admitted as Christian Witness to baptism together with a Catholic sponsor.
