Evenings for Women

Intended to be a one time only, four-week session, Evenings for Women is now in its 22nd year.  Meeting in the Ark (second floor of the Fr. Connelly Parish Center), on the third Tuesday of each month, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, we are led by Sister Katherine in a spiritually uplifting ninety minutes.

The book for this year is "Why Stay Catholic?: Unexpected Answers to a Life-Changing Question" by Michael Leach and can be purchased from the parish office.  The author writes about the "good stuff" in Catholicism:  ideas we seldom hear about, even from the pulpit; people we never read about because they never did anything bad or ever did anything grand, and wonderful Catholic organizations we never see on television.  It's an uplifting book about what's right with the Catholic church today, and why tomorrow offers such hope and promise.

One night, we might analyze a chapter in depth and find we all agree or possibly that we disagree with the author.  Another night, the chapter might be a springboard to a related or possibly even an unrelated discussion.  Then there are nights which are truly inspired and we never even mention the book!

The wealth of experience and knowledge that the women bring to the group is tremendous.  From new moms to great-grandmoms, the core group of usually 15 to 20 women, guarantees a lively exchange of ideas.  Grounded in our religious faith, bonded by our love of God—we invite you to join us in a laugh, a cry, a prayer, and usually a good dessert!  If you want to be uplifted and renewed, have we got an evening---an Evening for Women---for you!
